Love to get the word from the peanut gallery- do you think that gambling can really be a serious addiction like alcohol or drug abuse?

You know this has been brought up before and I have thought about it.
I think ANYTHING can become an addiction and ANYONE can become an addict....From the babies and their pacifiers...to the little old Lady with 63 Cats...People are addicted to something in one form or another and we will continue to be. The Key is MODERATION...Enjoy the good things in MODERATION. |

Yeah...I have seen more than once people are ruining their lifes with gambling addiction. I can´t believe it first.
I think it belongs to the personality of each...if you are in danger to be addictive..it can be everything like shopping, watching TV, eating...and gambling. |

Everything in moderation no matter what it is. I think there are some people whoo discover that the urge to play and win gets totally out of control and for those people then sure it is an addiction. I also think there are just some people who have addictive personalities and there will always be something that will suck them in.

It certainly can be but I think you have to know your limits. If you know you have a problem with gambling then you probably should not be visiting forums and sites like this one. The temptation is too high for you! Gambling can be destructive just like anything can be when you put too much into it.
