A small portion included in this law was the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act ).

Along with this law, specific states have banned online gambling.
To date there are 13:
Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota,
Utah, Washington State (not Washington DC), Wisconsin, Kentucky.
The lastes being Kentucky which also added a confusing twist.
Anyone living in the surrounding states of Kentucky have been banned until they can prove their physical address.
The assumption is that your IP may register to Kentucky.

Along with the banned states, Microgaming are not accepting any new players within the United States.
